This privacy policy explains how SOPS.net, operated by Eggy.net, collects and uses personal information when you browse the site, create an account, purchase credits, unlock SOP content, contact support or otherwise use the service.
1. Who operates SOPS.net
SOPS.net is operated by Eggy.net. Eggy.net operates the SOPS.net website, account system, credit system, payment integration and related support services.

2. Information we may collect
Account information
Your email address, internal account identifier, account status, registration date, last-login information, credit balance and account-related preferences.
Authentication information
Passwords are processed as password hashes rather than being stored as readable plain-text passwords. Password-reset requests use security tokens which are stored in hashed form.
Transactions and credits
Credit purchases, ledger entries, balances, SOP unlocks, print/download unlocks, amounts, dates and transaction references.
Payment information
Stripe-related transaction identifiers, Checkout Session references, payment status, amount, currency and customer information returned as part of payment processing.
Support communications
Emails, support requests, screenshots and information you choose to provide when asking us to investigate a problem.
Technical and security information
IP addresses or derived security hashes, server logs, browser or user-agent information, timestamps, referrers, request information, security events and diagnostic data.
3. Payment-card information
SOPS.net uses Stripe to process credit-package payments.
Full payment-card details are entered into Stripe's payment environment. SOPS.net does not need to store your complete card number or card security code in its own application database in order to grant credits.
SOPS.net does retain transaction information required to reconcile, secure and fulfil the purchase.
4. How we use personal information
Personal information may be used to create and maintain accounts, authenticate users, process purchases, maintain credit balances, provide permanently unlocked SOPs, provide print/download access, maintain transaction history, send transactional emails, respond to support enquiries, investigate payment disputes, detect fraud, secure the service, diagnose technical problems, comply with legal obligations and maintain business records.
5. Lawful bases
Depending on the activity and applicable law, SOPS.net may process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, because processing is necessary for legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, because a legal obligation applies, or because consent has been provided where consent is the appropriate basis.
Legitimate interests may include preventing fraud and abuse, maintaining service security, diagnosing faults, protecting users and keeping appropriate business records, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
6. Transactional email
SOPS.net sends service-related emails needed to operate accounts and purchases.
These can include registration confirmations, credit-purchase confirmations, SOP unlock notifications, print/download unlock notifications, password-reset messages, password-change security notices and other important account or service messages.
These operational messages are distinct from promotional marketing emails.
7. Administrator notifications
SOPS.net may generate internal administrator notifications when operational events occur, such as a new registration, confirmed credit purchase, SOP unlock or print/download unlock.
These notifications are used to operate, monitor and support the service.
8. Service providers
SOPS.net relies on third-party providers to operate parts of the service.
Depending on the service being used, providers may include Stripe for payment processing; hosting, server and email infrastructure providers; Cloudflare for internet, performance and security services; and Google services for analytics or advertising where those services are enabled.
Service providers process information subject to their own contractual and legal obligations and only receive the information relevant to the services they provide.
9. Cookies, analytics and advertising technologies
SOPS.net may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions such as sessions and security.
Analytics and advertising services may also use cookies, identifiers or similar technologies where those services are enabled.
Where applicable law requires consent before a non-essential technology is used, the relevant consent requirements and controls should apply. You can also control or remove cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may prevent account or login functions from working correctly.
10. Password resets and security records
Password-reset links use a randomly generated one-time token. SOPS.net stores a cryptographic hash of the token rather than the reset token itself.
Reset links expire after a limited period and become unusable after successful use. Associated security or audit records may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect accounts and investigate abuse.
11. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the service, resolve disputes, maintain security and transaction records, or satisfy legal, tax, accounting or regulatory requirements.
Account and transaction information may be retained while an account remains active and for an appropriate period afterwards. Financial records may need to be retained for applicable accounting or legal periods.
Support correspondence may be retained while an issue is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Security and server logs may be retained for operational, diagnostic and abuse-prevention purposes.
The expiry of a password-reset link makes the reset credential unusable even if an associated audit record remains for security purposes.
12. Security
SOPS.net uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect account and transaction information. These may include HTTPS, password hashing, access controls, security monitoring, restricted administrative access and use of specialist payment processors.
No internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security, and this policy should not be interpreted as such a guarantee.
13. International processing
Some service providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom.
Where cross-border data-protection rules apply, appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards should be used by the relevant organisation or service provider.
14. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, data portability in applicable circumstances and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights are not absolute in every situation. For example, some records may need to be retained for legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or the establishment or defence of legal claims.

SOPS.net is designed as a workplace and business documentation service. It is not designed specifically for children.
If you believe personal information relating to a child has been provided inappropriately, contact us so that the circumstances can be reviewed.

This policy may be updated when SOPS.net changes its services, providers, account features, payment systems or data-processing practices, or when legal requirements change.
